Dear graphic novel Editors/Publishers,
Metaphysical, spiritual, and self-help titles are immensely successful
in book bestseller lists, so why not the comics/graphic novel industry?
If this inspirational and helpful material were combined with beautiful
sequential art, it would be quite new--and very different.
In my 120-page painted graphic novel called Death From Above,
I take the cornerstone of all spiritual teachings--the controversial
subject of death, and create a lucid, metaphysical graphic novel in a
highly illustrative style designed to lessen the fear of death for
whomever reads it.
Here you will find:
- one-line story idea
- story synopsis
- 7 page sequence (pages 35-41) of one of the most striking scenes from the book, with lettering on the page (but not the final lettering, it's for demo purposes only).

What if you could "take a walk" alongside a being as compellingly beautiful and mysterious as DEATH herself? What do you think she would reveal to you about death itself, a phenomenon so culturally shrouded in fear, denial, and misperception?
DEATH FROM ABOVE takes you there. As you drift through lovely ethereal landscapes and hauntingly surreal spaces toward a mystical destination, DEATH telepathically communicates revelations and altered perceptions to you about death, dying, and living. As her thoughts move from factual to more spiritual, her manner from austerity to compassion, and the art from dark and suffocating to light and expansive, you ultimately experience what (and who) DEATH really is. You realize death need not be feared and how it can actually become a powerful ally always there to guide you on life's journey.
DEATH FROM ABOVE, through stunning, emotionally charged painting and clear inspired dialogue becomes an accessible dream interpretation of what death personally means to me, what death is coming to mean to us as a society, and what death is according to seers and spiritual practitioners over the last 3,000 years.
